2 civilians have been shot dead by the police so far.
The RAB special police unit, known for its brutality, was called to the scene.
The troops landed on the roof of the university where terrified students are hiding fearing for their lives.
Unverified reports of 5 policemen killed in the riots and the call of the army to the area.
NEWSRAEL - BACKGROUND: The demonstrations began by students who were frustrated over "unfair" quotas for government jobs are clashing with ruling party supporters and police. Tempers are exacerbated by poor economic conditions and a lack of opportunity for the future.
Even so - it seems as these protests are quickly turning into riots against the ruling party and regime and are quickly becoming violent.
