Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said during a situation assessment with the IDF general staff that Iran’s surviving leadership is hiding underground while continuing to direct attacks against Israel and the region.
According to Katz, the Iranian leadership is “fleeing like rats into tunnels, just like the Hamas leadership in Gaza,” while issuing orders from those locations to fire on civilians and children in Israel and across the Middle East. He added that Iranian hospitals and morgues are reportedly filled with “many thousands” of members of the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij killed in the ongoing fighting.
Katz stressed that the operation against Iran will continue as long as necessary. He said the campaign—led by President Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—will proceed without any time limit until all military objectives are achieved and the campaign is decisively won.
