Several media outlets in Sudan report that the authorities arrested the political activist, lawyer Naji Mustafa, in recent days after he published a satirical video that was seen as a threat to the government and Israel, if there is progress in normalizing relations.
In the video in question, we see him as a political activist with young men behind him with automatic weapons.
"I want to convey a very short message to Cohen, the foreign minister who came here, and Sharon and Sherman and Sajman and Burhan (the ruler of Sudan): we are ready for normalization. If you (the government of Sudan) want to normalize with the Zionist enemy, bring them here, no problem."
As soon as he said "we are ready to normalize", the young men behind him cocked their weapons (an expression of what might happen).
The authorities in Khartoum have not issued an official statement on the matter, but according to some reports in Sudan he was arrested for what was perceived as a threat to national security.
