Security forces exchanged fire with the terrorist, ultimately killing him. Searches are underway to ensure no additional threats remain.
Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that eight Israeli soldiers were injured in total, including two in critical condition.
According to early reports, the terrorist arrived at the Tayasir checkpoint around 6:00 AM and opened fire on the soldiers stationed there.
The troops returned fire, leading to an exchange of gunfire as additional forces were dispatched to the scene. After several minutes, the terrorist was eliminated.
