A Palestinian suspect from Gaza allegedly planned a mass-casualty attack against an Israeli cruise ship visiting Crete.
Greek authorities say they prevented a suspected Hamas-linked terrorist attack targeting an Israeli cruise ship scheduled to arrive on the island of Crete.
A 37-year-old Palestinian man from Gaza was arrested on Crete in early June after investigators allegedly discovered that he had obtained chemical substances capable of being used to manufacture explosives. Authorities also believe he previously received bomb-making training abroad.
The suspect faces terrorism-related charges, while investigators continue examining his contacts, possible accomplices and connections to Hamas-linked networks.
