Amnesty International is calling for an international investigation into Israel’s airstrikes on Tehran’s Evin Prison during the June attack on Iran, accusing Israel of potential war crimes. The group claims the strikes killed and wounded dozens and damaged six parts of the prison.
However, Amnesty’s report omits a crucial fact: Israeli forces targeted the IRGC offices inside the prison and bombed the main gate—reportedly to allow political prisoners to escape.
This aspect, widely reported through video evidence and eyewitness testimony, is ignored in Amnesty’s narrative, which focuses solely on alleged civilian harm.
Critics say the report reflects Amnesty’s ongoing bias, downplaying the presence of IRGC forces at the site and Israel’s apparent effort to free regime detainees.
