American political influencer Jackson Hinkle was seen distributing sharbat, a traditional flower-based drink, to participants attending Ali Khamenei’s funeral ceremonies in Tehran.
Hinkle is a prominent member of the American Communist Party and has repeatedly expressed support for Iran and the anti-Israel “Axis of Resistance.” He confirmed that he attended the funeral procession, saying he had traveled to Iran to pay his respects to the former supreme leader.
His appearance in Tehran follows a pattern of public support for some of America’s most hostile adversaries. Hinkle previously attended the funeral of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut and participated in a Houthi-organized conference in Yemen.
Images of an American communist personally serving mourners at a ceremony filled with “Death to America” chants captured the contradictions surrounding the event.
