Research find that Israeli leftist "NGOs" received over 2.4 billion NIS in foreign funding
A new report by the "Im Tirtzu" movement reveals that over the past 12 years, approximately 485 NGOs in Israel have reported receiving 2.4 billion shekels from foreign state entities. The organization’s chairman, Shay Rosengarten, presented the findings today (Monday) during a Knesset Constitution Committee discussion on the NGO Law spearheaded by MK Ariel Kallner.
According to the data, in 2023 alone, 183 organizations disclosed over 300 million shekels in foreign governmental funding. The NGO that received the most was “Comet-ME,” which reportedly got over 85 million NIS and, according to Im Tirtzu, supports illegal Palestinian Authority activity in Area C. The NGO “B’Tselem” received more than 83 million NIS during the same period. The leading contributors were Germany (over 378 million NIS) and the European Union (over 188 million NIS).
Rosengarten argued: “These alarming figures prove the urgent need for MK Kallner’s NGO Law. Israelis vote thinking they shape policy, but in reality, foreign donors like Stefan and Alfred dictate it through massive funding to organizations petitioning the High Court and turning it into a global body that ignores the will of the voters.”
During the debate, MK Kallner stated: “From 2012 to 2024, over 1.3 billion shekels flowed from foreign governments to 83 political NGOs – that’s 300,000 shekels a day. These funds go to groups that harm IDF soldiers, protect terrorists, and weaponize our legal system against us. This isn’t civil support, it’s foreign interference. A petition every three days isn’t democracy — it’s a legal strategy to undermine our sovereignty. This law is a continuation of our war of independence.”
