Rafael chairman, former Israeli government minister (Likud), says Iron Dome intercepted nearly 99% of Hamas and Hezbollah rockets
The chairman of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Yuval Steinitz, said today that Israel’s air defense systems achieved interception rates of around 98% to 99% against rockets launched by Hamas and Hezbollah since October 2023.
Speaking at a security conference in Jerusalem, Steinitz stated that Hamas and Hezbollah together fired approximately 40,000 rockets toward Israel during the war period, with the vast majority intercepted successfully by the Iron Dome system.
He also revealed new details regarding Iran’s missile attacks on Israel. According to Steinitz, Iran launched around 1,500 ballistic missiles at Israel in two rounds of fighting since 2024, and only “several dozens” managed to evade interception. He stressed that Israel does not currently face a shortage of interceptor missiles.
