In the face of public criticism in Germany of the economic ties with Qatar, Robert Habik, Minister of Economy who also serves as the Vice Chancellor, stated yesterday that he does not believe that gas imports from Qatar have harmed Israel.ย
Recently, criticism was heard in Germany according to which the purchase of gas from Qatar, which is the main financier of Hamas, increased the threat to Israel.
Havik, who spoke on the sidelines of a conference in the city of Mannheim, responded by saying that gas imports from Qatar were limited in the past and are not large today.
Beyond that, according to him, Qatar coordinated aid to Hamas vis-a-vis Israel. The German minister added that it is not possible to compare the damage caused to Ukraine as a result of Germany's dependence on Russian gas, compared to the damage to Israel and concluded: "I don't think that Germany stuck a knife in Israel's back through the gas purchases from Qatar."
NEWSRAEL: The understanding that Qatar is complicit not only in the war with Hamas, but with infiltrating Western geo-political interests is finally coming to the fore. Qatar, who donates billions to Universities in the West in order to further their Jihadist ideologies will find themselevs under the microscope when this war ends.
