Iran-Lebanon first public "lovers" quarrel

Mohammad Khalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, told the French newspaper Figaro: "Tehran is ready to negotiate with Paris to implement Resolution 1701 in Lebanon...".

Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of Lebanon strongly condemned Iran's statements that it is ready to negotiate with France regarding the implementation of UN Resolution 1701 and asked Iran not to interfere in Lebanon's internal affairs.

The Lebanese Prime Minister's Office announced that it had summoned the Iranian ambassador for a reprimand following the statements of the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament.
