Yesterday, Hamas political head Haniyeh, arrived in Syria and announced the two entities would renew ties, broken off 10 years ago.
What was missing in the media reports was - why did Hamas break their ties with the Assad regime in the first place?
The answer to that is found in a tweet by Al-Jazeera journalist, Saad Abedine, who is obviously not happy at the renewal of ties:
"At least 4116 Palestinians killed by Assad in Syria, 631 tortured to death. Thousands of Syrian civilians murdered/tortured by the Baathist regime & yet, Hamas decides it’s time to restore ties w the Iranian backed mass murderer after 10 years."
If these numbers are to be believed, one wonders why the world hears how Israel commit 'genocide' in Gaza by killing 256 Arabs in Guardian of the Wall, but nothing about the thousands of Palestinians Syria has killed.
