As the deadline for applying for the 11th Israeli Presidency has officially concluded at midnight (Israel time), there are two candidates.
The first is Yitzchak "Bougie" Herzog, head of the Jewish Agency, former head if the Israeli Labor Party and the government opposition and son of former President Chaim Herzog.
The second candidate is Miriam Peretz, a beloved social activist whose two sons have fallen defending of the State of Israel during the Second Lebanon War in 2006 and in operation "Cast Led" in Gaza in 2008. Ever since, Peretz has been giving empowering lectures, both in Israel and around the world, about loving the land and people of Israel, at all costs.
The Presidential election will take place in the Knesset in two weeks. If Peretz is elected, she will become the first female President in the history of the State of Israel.
