While young Fins and eager politicians scream "Save Gaza!" - the more responsible leaders understand how important Israel is to Europe's safety.
Finland has officially deployed Israel’s “Gabriel” sea-to-sea missile, designated by the Finnish Navy as PTO2020, marking a major step in the modernization of its naval forces.
According to Army Recognition, the system is now operational on Hamina-class missile boats and will later be integrated into the new Pohjanmaa-class frigates being built under the Squadron 2020 program. The missile can also be launched from mobile land-based platforms, giving Finland flexible operational options.
The Hamina-class boats, in service since the early 2000s, weigh 250 tons, reach speeds above 30 knots, and are designed for the shallow, crowded waters of the Baltic Sea. Between 2018–2022 they underwent extensive upgrades. Now, equipped with Gabriel missiles, they gain long-range precision strike capability that transforms them into significant strategic assets despite their relatively small size.
