Jerusalem, 12 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) -- The returning hostage Idan Alexander suffered severe torture during Hamas interrogations for many weeks, Hebrew media report. The information comes from Alexander itself, who is already in Israel and is undergoing initial medical check-ups.
He was held alongside other hostages in the southern Gaza Strip, in a tunnel without daylight.
For a long period he was kept in a cage, handcuffed and with his feet shackled.
During release he had difficulty walking due to weakness and prolonged shackling.
He suffered from significant food shortage, only in recent months was he given more food.
The terrorists called him ‘the American’.
Idan immigrated to Israel without his family, enlisted in the Golani Brigade, volunteered to stay during the holiday on Shabbat 10/7, and fought like a lion defending the female observers.
Welcome back, Idan, Hero of Israel!
