Marking 45 years to Egyptian president Sadat's speech in the Knesset

On this day 45 years ago, the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat visited the State of Israel and delivered an important speech in the Israeli Parliament in the capital, Jerusalem, praising peace and coexistence and denouncing hatred and war.

Sadat, a man of peace, represents a rare leader who abandons the path of war for his bold vision of a better future for all

Sadat was assassinated on 6 October 1981 by the Muslim Brotherhood in "payment" for daring to make peace with Israel.
