BREAKING: Iranian diplomat jumping ship

A senior Iranian diplomat at the United Nations office in Geneva has left his post and applied for asylum in Switzerland, sources say

Alireza Jeyrani Hokmabad, deputy head of Iran’s mission in Geneva, reportedly fled with his family amid fears tied to unrest inside Iran and regime instability.

Sources say more Iranian diplomats in Europe are quietly exploring asylum as international pressure and support for protesters grow, including moves by the European Parliament.
