Nikolay Mladenov, described as the senior representative of President Trump’s peace council, made a significant statement regarding the next phase in Gaza, declaring that all armed groups in the Strip must disarm.
Speaking about the post-war framework, Mladenov said: “All armed elements in Gaza need to lay down their weapons — there is no other option, unless one wants to see a return to war.”
His remarks come amid ongoing international discussions about Gaza’s future governance, reconstruction, and security structure following months of intense fighting. The question of whether Hamas and other terrorist factions will retain weapons has become central to negotiations over any long-term arrangement.
The issue of disarmament remains one of the most sensitive and decisive components of any stabilization plan, with Israel repeatedly insisting that lasting calm is impossible if terrorist groups remain armed inside Gaza.
