Is Egypt dumping Hamas? "Failure, media deception, and evading responsibility": Al-Sisi’s media mouthpiece publishes harsh accusation against Hamas
Cairo – April 6, 2025 — In an unprecedented rebuke, the Egyptian newspaper Al-Dustour, closely aligned with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's regime, launched a blistering attack on Hamas, accusing the terror group of reckless leadership, media manipulation, and total evasion of accountability for the devastation in Gaza.
In a statement published Saturday on the newspaper’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, Al-Dustour condemned Hamas’s tactics in the ongoing war with Israel, particularly its handling of hostage negotiations. The paper blasted the group’s demand to exchange hostages for 5,000 Palestinian prisoners, calling it a “meaningless bargaining chip” that comes “at the expense of millions of lives.”
“Hamas acts as if these prisoners are more valuable than the children buried under rubble,” the editorial declared. “Their governance is a failure disguised as resistance.”
