Two explosions within a month in an area that is supposed to be secure in the "Dachia" neighborhood of Beirut, a Hezbollah stronghold, raises questions.
The first explosion happened on March 27 in an apartment in front of one of the Hezbollah offices in the area. That's when the 32-year-old resident, Mohammed Al-Ahol, was arrested.
In his investigation, El Ahol, a former army man, told that he prepared explosive charges in his home at the request of a "foreign entity" whom he defined as "neither Israeli nor from ISIS."
He was supposed to plant the charges in different areas of Beirut, photograph the explosion and upload the documentation to social networks, and all this for money. The investigating officials leaked to the Lebanese press that they were under the impression that this was an "unsettled" person.
On Thursday, another explosion occurred in the apartment and this happened two days after the army returned the apartment keys to the owner.
The explosion this time was fatal (as you can see in the video) and killed a woman who came to "clean" the apartment and wounded another unidentified man. The army explains that the latest explosion was caused by a "liquid substance" that escaped the army personnel who thoroughly searched the apartment after the first explosion.
In Lebanon, they claim that those around Hezbollah are worried about the security of the area that is supposed to be the most secure in Beirut.
Another unresolved question mark is who was the party that asked to prepare the charges.
