Omar al-Shahr, an Iraqi journalist who is intimately familiar with the internal discussions of his country’s political elite, warns of escalation and an inevitable Israeli attack on Iraq.
“The government has alarming estimates regarding Iraqi national security, which indicate the possibility that the country will be exposed to almost 300 Israeli attacks, all within a 3-day time frame.”
Al-Shahr said, in a blog post on Facebook: “There is no specific information about the nature and type of targets, but the idea is that Iraq will be subjected to 100 attacks a day over 3 days should be something that can cause panic!”
He added, “Much of the information that our government relied on in building its assessments came from major international allies, led by the United States, in addition to other warnings coming from secondary allies and Iraqi parties involved in current regional developments.”
