The prosecutor in the case of the attack on the Jewish community center in Argentina AMIA, Sebastian Lorenzo Basso, has filed a request for the extradition of senior Iranian officials, including the elderly so-called "Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic," Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The terror attack in question occurred on July 18, 1994, and 85 people were murdered and hundreds were injured, and it is linked to Hezbollah and Iran.
In other words, this case has been "under investigation" for decades, sometimes smeared or slandered from on high, and always stands at the center of relations between Argentina, Iran, and Lebanon.
The current prosecutor Basso replaced prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was mysteriously murdered in 2015, just one day before he was supposed to present a report on the investigation to the local Congress.
Other Iranian wanted persons in the case include former intelligence minister Ali Fallahian, former Revolutionary Guards commander Mohsen Rezaei, former foreign minister Ali Akbar Velayati, and more.
There is no doubt that the change in the affair is related to the new government in Argentina led by President Milley. Let's hope that justice will be done, because after three decades the time has come.
