The mother of Ran Gvili expected to accompany Netanyahu on the US trip
Talik Gvili, the mother of fallen Israeli police officer Ran Gvili, whose body remains held by Hamas in Gaza, is expected to join Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his upcoming flight to Florida aboard the official aircraft Wing of Zion in less than two weeks, according to a report by Israeli news site Walla.
The trip comes ahead of Netanyahu’s scheduled meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on Dec. 29 at Mar-a-Lago, where the leaders are set to discuss advancing the next phases of the Gaza ceasefire plan, including an international stabilization force.
Ran Gvili, a 24-year-old staff sergeant in an elite police unit, was killed fighting Hamas terrorists during the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Alumim. His body was taken to Gaza, making him the last remaining Israeli hostage whose remains have not been returned under the terms of the U.S.-backed ceasefire agreement.
