President Trump says the Supreme Court’s mail-in ballot ruling makes election security legislation more urgent than ever.
President Donald Trump said the SAVE America Act has become “even more important” after the Supreme Court ruled that states may count mail-in ballots received after Election Day, as long as they were sent on or before Election Day.
Trump called the ruling harmful to election integrity and said it gives more room for illegal voting. He argued that the answer is a stronger federal election law requiring proof of citizenship, photo voter ID, and major limits on mail-in ballots.
The president said mail-in voting should be allowed only in specific cases, including for members of the military, the disabled, the ill, or people away from home. His message was simple: American elections must be based on citizenship, identity verification, and clear deadlines.
