The IDF and Shin Bet announced that Israeli forces struck overnight in northern Gaza and eliminated senior figures in Hamas’s General Security apparatus, one of the terror group’s most secretive and important internal mechanisms.
According to the IDF, the apparatus is responsible for protecting senior Hamas leaders, securing their communications, coordinating meetings and moving them between emergency sites. It also gathers intelligence on Israeli security forces and helps Hamas leaders make operational decisions and plan terror attacks against Israel.
Among those eliminated was Hassan Rabah Hassan Labad, deputy head of Hamas’s General Security apparatus and a central figure in decision-making and the development of directives within the mechanism. Three other senior Hamas terrorists were also eliminated: Assem Amin Shallash Shabir, Abdullah Atta Younis Abu Kaloub and Mohammed Naaman Zaki Abu Marq.
The IDF said the senior Hamas figures had recently been involved in efforts to rebuild Hamas’s capabilities and help the group’s leadership continue advancing terror activity against Israel and IDF troops.
