Despite its outspoken criticism of Israel’s war in Gaza and vocal support for an arms embargo, Spain has continued purchasing Israeli military technology—raising eyebrows about Madrid’s contradictory stance.

An exposé by Spanish newspaper El Mundo reveals that, behind its political posturing, Spain is actively advancing a multimillion-euro defense deal with Israeli arms manufacturer Elbit Systems.

The purchase, focused on tactical radio communication systems, comes despite previous pledges by the Spanish government to cut military ties with Israel.
