The Ministry of Tourism has compiled a list of 22,000 tourists interested in boarding the “rescue flights” from Israel.
Tens of thousands of foreign nationals visiting Israel saw their flights abroad canceled as Israel closed its air space since the start of the war against Iran last Friday.
At the beginning of the war, about 40,000 tourists were in Israel. Today, about 32,000 remain. Some of the tourists chose to leave by way of overland crossings to Jordan and Egypt, which remain open. Others left by sea.
The Ministry of Tourism said it will increase its representatives at the land border crossings to assist those tourists exiting the country through them.
