Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard delivered a detailed criticism of the 2019 impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump, claiming the case was driven by hearsay, lack of evidence, and partisan coordination from the outset.
Gabbard argued that the central whistleblower had no firsthand knowledge of the phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, instead relying on secondhand information before approaching Congressman Adam Schiff.
She further stated that additional witnesses also lacked direct knowledge and evidence, while criticizing the inspector general for not conducting a full investigation or reviewing the call transcript before making a referral.
According to Gabbard, the Department of Justice ultimately found no basis for criminal action, reinforcing her claim that the impeachment effort was politically motivated and aimed at overturning the will of American voters.
