Germany’s Interior Ministry announced today a ban on the Islamist organization Muslim Interaktiv, declaring it a threat to the country’s constitutional order and to the principle of “understanding between nations.”
Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt signed a dissolution order and ordered the seizure of all the group’s assets.
Police carried out raids early this morning on seven locations in Hamburg linked to the group, as well as twelve additional sites in Berlin and the state of Hesse. The operation is part of a broader investigation into two other organizations — Generation Islam and Realität Islam — suspected of close cooperation with Muslim Interaktiv and promoting similar extremist goals.
According to the ministry, the group advocates the creation of a global Islamic caliphate, rejects democracy and the rule of law, opposes gender equality and LGBTQ rights, and denies the State of Israel’s right to exist.
