In Venezuela, the regime of Nicolas Maduro has benefited from financial, military, technological, and diplomatic assistance from China, along with ongoing 
support that began during the Hugo Chávez era.

Chávez, who promoted one-party socialist rule, was the Latin American leader who visited China the most, and between 2007 and 2017, the Venezuelan regime 
received over $60 billion in Chinese funding, and during that time, the Venezuelan government purchased more than $615 million worth of military equipment.
