Minister Gamliel: "We are taking the first step today to rebuild the ties between the nations"
Intelligence Minister Gila Gamaliel announced that this week she will host the Iranian crown prince and son of the Shah, Reza Pahlavi, as the most senior Iranian figure ever to make a public visit to Israel.
The Prince said that illions of his compatriots still remember living alongside their Jewish-Iranian friends and neighbors, before the Islamic Revolution tore “the fabric of our society apart” and that they “reject the regime’s murderous anti-Israel and anti-Semitic policies and long for cultural, scientific and economic exchanges with Israel.”
NEWSRAEL: This is a VERY important visit, one which shows the support of the Israeli people for the Iranian uprising, and a glimpse of what the Middle East could look like after the faall of the Ayatollahs.
