The arrests come amid heightened tensions in the region following the ongoing war, with Iranian security forces increasing pressure on suspected individuals with connections to Israel.

These two Americans are among 35 members of Iran’s Jewish community who have been detained for questioning in recent weeks. 

All are suspected of maintaining ties with Israel, a charge frequently used by the regime against minorities and foreign nationals. The arrests have raised serious concerns about the safety of Jews living in Iran and those visiting from abroad.
