Mohammad Saraj: "This event was by no means accidental, and there is clear evidence of Israeli involvement."
An Iranian news agency reported that Iranian MP Mohammad Saraj spoke about the explosion at Rajaei Port in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran. In an interview, he stated: "This incident was not accidental in any way, and there is clear evidence of Israeli interference."
Explosion in four locations
"When explosions occur in four different spots, it indicates that explosives were planted inside the containers beforehand," Saraj explained. He dismissed the idea of a natural fire, saying: "Usually, chemicals ignite at some point but do not cause simultaneous explosions like this. The containers were booby-trapped at their point of origin."
Advanced technology suspected
Saraj suggested that Israel may have used advanced technology: "It is likely these explosions were triggered via satellites or remote-controlled timers. They calculated the containers' arrival time precisely to maximize damage."
Impact on negotiations with the U.S.
Asked about the incident’s effect on negotiations, Saraj stressed: "Israel is trying in every possible way to disrupt Iran's international relations, and this incident is part of those conspiracies. However, the Iranian people are fully aware and will not be deceived. This incident will not affect the negotiations."
Comparison to Beirut port explosion
Saraj compared the Bandar Abbas event to the Beirut port explosion: "In Lebanon, an ammonium nitrate warehouse was attacked, causing a widespread domino effect. In Bandar Abbas, thanks to proper container separation, the damage was much less. This shows the enemy has studied the tactic and is now applying it."
He also ruled out local opposition involvement, concluding: "This event was undoubtedly orchestrated by Israeli networks operating globally."
