Professor Haas discussed with NEWSRAEL PRO subscribers the issue of violence in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, arguing that claims of settler violence are often misrepresentations of the actual situation.
He cited statistics on violence in the Arab population and shared personal anecdotes from his experience as a reserve officer and current resident of Judea and Samaria.
He emphasized that much of the violence in the region is committed by terrorists and Arabs who oppose Israeli presence, and he explained that local Jewish communities often respond to attacks to prevent further violence.
He also addressed questions about the treatment of Christians in Israel, noting that Christians are able to live freely in the country, unlike in neighboring Muslim-majority countries where Christian populations have been declining.
