Iran’s weapons expose limits of US air defenses
Iran’s ability to overwhelm and bypass advanced air-defense systems is reportedly pushing the Pentagon toward a far more aggressive strategy.
American officials reportedly acknowledge that Iran has developed improved methods for penetrating US air defenses through a combination of maneuvering missiles, electronic disruption and large drone swarms.
Recent Iranian attacks on American positions in Jordan and the Gulf demonstrated that systems such as the Patriot cannot provide complete protection against concentrated and sophisticated attacks. The danger is especially severe when multiple types of weapons are launched simultaneously from different directions.
