Jerusalem, 23 March, 2023 (TPS) -- Former Minister of Defense and a current opposition leader in the Knesset criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu for his remarks made to the nation in a national address Thursday night about his government’s controversial judicial reform plan.
However, Gantz expressed his hope that there may have been a hint at compromise in Netanyahu’s words.
“He should do a simple thing,” added Gantz, “stop and talk instead of going against the ombudsman. I am sorry that he does not rise to the size of the hour and stop, even now, when even from his own words it is clear that this is the right thing for the State of Israel.”
But after Netanyahu acknowledged that the opposition has legitimate grievances over the plan and called once again for a discussion on the matter Gantz said, “But the barrier of silence began to break today.”
