WATCH: 100 days of rebellion: The Druze in southern Syria insist on overthrowing the Assad regime

Coinciding with the 100th day of the provincial uprising, Suwayda city witnessed a massive demonstration attended by thousands of protesters from different parts and towns of the province, including women, youths and clerics.

The news network Suwayda 24, which covers the news about the province, published recordings showing thousands of protesters gathering in Karma Square in the city of Suwayda in a carnival and civilized atmosphere that testifies to the Syrian people and their political culture, which Assad and his intelligence have always tried to stifle.

In the early morning, groups of volunteers from the district raided Karma Square and worked to clean, prepare and decorate it before the arrival of the demonstrators.

Afterwards, delegations of villagers began to arrive in the square in their hundreds to participate in the main demonstration, which was characterized by a large presence and symbolic paintings that carried a clear message demanding freedom and change.

Demonstrations were attended by various groups in society, including clerics who came shoulder to shoulder to demonstrate the unity of the people, while women carried olive branches, roses, miniatures of the map of Syria and released doves to demonstrate the peace, unity of the Syrian people, and their demands for freedom.

The demonstrators chanted: "The Syrian people are one", "The people want to overthrow the regime", "Religion is for God and the homeland is for everyone", "Raise your head, you are a free Syrian", and so on. "Bashar… we don't want you."

On Tuesday, Hikmat al-Hijri, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Suwayda, emphasized the validity and legitimacy of the Syrian demands in their ongoing protests against what he described as the "failed authority", and in a video speech denounced the "material and moral" methods of repression that the Assad regime is trying to silence the protesters

It is worth noting that for more than 3 months there have been daily demonstrations in the city and its rural areas in al-Suwayda, demanding Bashar Assad's departure from power, the overthrow of the regime and the implementation of UN Resolution 2254. (Credit: Orient News)

Note in the background of the news: the Druze are putting their very existence in Syria in danger in light of the civil rebellion they have declared against the Assad regime. They are currently immune from extermination both because the Russians are currently providing some protection to the Druze community in the south of the country and because of the American threat to intervene in the event of an attempt to exterminate the community. But never resilience.

Both Russia and the USA support the Druze in Syria out of narrow interests and it is possible that one day the interest will change or the Druze will face the end of time...
