PM Netanyahu at a Press Conference:
“There is a solution to the political tangle. The answer is a direct election for the Prime Minister - to let the public decide who will lead the country. There is a considerable majority in the country that supports it, and it crosses most of the parties in the Knesset. The last election proved that the public wants a right-wing government. The Knesset has 65 seats on the clear right, and the only reason it is not possible to form a right-wing government right now is personal and not ideological matters. There are two options: To form a left-wing government with a right-wing branch - with Meretz, the common, the Labor - is against the will of the electorate and against the commitments of Bennett and Gideon Saar. The second option is to form a stable right-wing government for four years after Bezeq's prime ministerial election so that the public can choose who will be the next prime minister. We do not need to dissolve the Knesset, and we do not need a fifth election; we need a quick referendum and let the people decide who will be the prime minister. I will accept any result, and I hope that others will do the same. You can do it right away - it just depends on one person, Naftali Bennett. If Bennett supports this proposal, it has a majority. There is no reason why he should not keep this. He has pledged to the right-wing government and pledged not to go under the torch and the left. I met with him several times and offered him a senior position in the government. Unfortunately, although I received a mandate from the president to form a right-wing government, Bennett is simultaneously negotiating with us to create a left-wing government. This means that just because of a personal ambition to be a prime minister with seven seats, Bennett does not let us exhaust the seat and form a stable right-wing government. We saw this last night when the "right" voted against the right in the Knesset. If Bennett truly wants a right-wing government - let him know today that he supports direct elections, and we will get out of the mess. As for RAAM - we do not need RAAM. We need a natural choice to form a government. It solves this whole question. There are only two options: either a left-wing government with internal contradictions, with a right-wing fig leaf, in stark contrast to the promises Bennett made in the election and against the will of the public, or a direct election to form a stable right-wing government. In this, we get out of the tangle and do not need other solutions either." 🇮🇱 IF YOU LOVE ISRAEL - SHARE NEWSRAEL! 🇮🇱

Yes, let the people decide. Too much “Me First” going on. Mr. Netanyahu is correct. God bless Israel.
