18 suspects accused of inciting arson terror online were identified. Police: “Anyone involved in incitement will be brought to justice.”
The Israeli police are not only battling wildfires but also a parallel wave of online incitement encouraging arson. According to police sources quoted by Channel 14, 18 individuals have been identified for allegedly promoting arson terror on social media. Arrests are expected in the coming hours.
A special task force against incitement on social networks, established by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, worked around the clock today to locate those spreading support for arson attacks. Police say that some of the inciters have already been located and will soon be apprehended. “This is far from over,” officials warned. “Anyone involved in this incitement will face prosecution.”
In a separate incident, at least one Arab suspect was arrested earlier today while allegedly attempting to ignite a field in southern Jerusalem. Investigations are ongoing.
