Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit announced today (Thursday) an outline in which a combined team of the Department of Police Investigations (DPI) and the police will investigate the disaster on Mount Meron, where 45 people were killed. Wipe evidence.
Mandelblit said in a statement that the teams would work "in a collaborative and coordinated manner to investigate the incident, while maintaining fences and restrictions for joint work, in several respects, to maintain each body's investigative independence, and its ability to reach the truth."
It was also stated that the joint investigation team would be accompanied by the State Attorney's Office, through attorneys appointed by Acting State Attorney Amit Isman, as well as the relevant parties in the DPI and the State Attorney's Office, in legal advice to the government and the Israel Police.
