In a video that recently circulated on social media, the Israeli Air Force is seen launching SPICE-2000 guided bombs during strikes in Gaza.
The video shows a civilian house being attacked by a SPICE-2000 guided bomb.
The SPICE (Smart, Precision Impact, Cost-Effective) system, developed by the Israeli defense company Rafael, represents a major advance in precision attack capabilities.
At the core of the SPICE system is an advanced guidance system equipped with Inertial Navigation System (INS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities. This setting allows the transmission of images in real time, and allows the route to be adjusted on the way to the target through the use of folding wings and several fins.
The SPICE family consists of four models: the Spice 250, which weighs 125 kilograms; Spice 1000 weighs 450 kg; Spice 2000 weighs 900 kg; and the recently introduced Spice 250 ER. It is worth noting that the Spice 250 ER includes an extended range of up to 150 kilometers, which represents a significant improvement in the system's capabilities. The numerical designations correspond to the weight of the bomb in kilograms.
