The world continues to judge Iran as though it were a normal country pursuing normal national interests. That may be a dangerous mistake.

Iran already faces the US, Israel and several Middle Eastern countries. Yet instead of attempting to limit the conflict, Tehran continues threatening to widen it.

Iran has warned Bulgaria over plans to host US refueling aircraft. The IRGC has declared that Britain could become a “legitimate target” for allowing American bombers to use British bases. Tehran has also threatened retaliation against Ukraine after an Iranian vessel was attacked in the Caspian Sea.
