DRUZE spiritual leader in Syria calls for a jihad war against Iran and Hezbollah

The spiritual leader of the Druze community in southern Syria, Hichmat al-Hijri, emphasized that Iran occupied Syria from the moment it entered it after the outbreak of the Syrian rebellion in order to support Bashar al-Assad and his regime.

He and added that a jihad war must be waged against the Iranian militias and Hezbollah in Syria.

Sheikh al-Hijri confirmed in a video on Wednesday, September 13, that Iran, the Iranian militias and Hezbollah are occupying forces, and "we do not accept their presence on Syrian soil in any form".

Al-Hijri emphasized the necessity of the Jihad war against these militias, which he believed to be occupying forces.

Sheikh al-Hijri, who supports the weeks-long demonstrations in Suwayda district from day one, added that Iran and its militias came in to steal Syria's wealth, and they also brought in mercenaries for that purpose, in addition to changing people's minds and spreading their subversive ideology.

Al-Hijri warned against a plot by the regime, and also threatened the traitors and those who opened fire on the Suwayda demonstrators, saying: "All gunfire against the Syrian people must be removed, and our weapons will remain clean, but only until we ask for intervention (from foreign groups)."

Regarding the incident of shooting at demonstrators, he explained, "I am not surprised by what happened today and I said in the past that any harm that would harm us would be harmed back to them", referring to the shooters who were placed on the roof of the Ba'ath building in Suwayda.

Sheikh Hikim al-Hijri called in a statement to continue demonstrating against the Syrian regime in Sweida, and warned against the Syrian regime's plans to drag the district into violence.

Three young men were injured Wednesday, as a result of the shooting of armed guards in the city of Sweida, while the protesters tried to re-close the building.

A Baldi News reporter in Suwayda reported that the protesters in Al-Sir Square headed towards the Baath Party branch building at noon to close it again, but the Syrian security forces in front of the building opened fire on the protesters in an attempt to disperse the protesters, which caused the injury of a young man.

The shooting incident is considered the first since the beginning of the demonstrations in Suwayda, which began 24 days ago.

The popular protest continues for the fourth week in a row in Suwayda, when dozens of the city's residents gathered in Karama Square, demanding the removal of the head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, from power, the implementation of international resolution 2254 and the release of detainees.

The demonstrators carried banners that read: "The Suwayda District Council does not represent us. It only represents its members", "Contempt for the murderer of the Syrian people", "Bashar al-Assad will be removed from the head of the regime".

A note in the background of the article: the Druze leader's open call for a Jihad war against Iran and Hezbollah, who control all of southern Syria, actually seals his tribe's fate. The Syrians and Iranians have already demonstrated their determination to eliminate Druze leaders whenever they threatened the dominance of the Assad family in various regions of Syria.
