'Oron' is basically a Gulfstream G550 executive plane equipped with advanced electronic equipment
The Air Force's 'Oron' plane for intelligence gathering was declared operational, and in the war of the iron swords it already carried out missions against Hamas in Gaza, hundreds of hours of flight in 100 sorties.
'Oron' is based on a Gulfstar G550 executive aircraft equipped with advanced electronic equipment, an AESA radar of Alta/TAA, electro-optical sensors for Sigint signal intelligence and advanced data processing systems.
The uniqueness of 'Oron' is its ability to perform a variety of intelligence gathering tasks in the same sortie and transmit the information to its consumers.
The plane was developed by the Israel Defense Forces/Mishhabat and the Air Industry, and the sensors in the plane allow it to scan large, distant and long-range areas.
The plane has positions for intelligence officers, computer systems for processing the information, and has a range of more than 1,000 km. 'Oron' belongs to Squadron 122 which operates 'Shavit' and 'Eitam' model aircraft, and the newest aircraft among them is 'Oron'.
