Heavy close-quarters fighting is underway between IDF forces and Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon, as Israeli troops continue pushing deeper into areas long used by Hezbollah as military strongholds.
The clashes point to a significant escalation on the ground, with intense combat reported across several sectors. IDF forces are operating in difficult terrain, facing Hezbollah terrorists embedded in villages, fortified positions and areas prepared in advance for battle.
The fighting comes as Israel increases pressure on Hezbollah and works to dismantle the terror organization’s infrastructure near the border. For years, Hezbollah turned south Lebanon into an Iranian-backed military zone aimed at Israel’s northern communities.
Now, the IDF is forcing Hezbollah to pay the price for that threat — not from the air alone, but inside the very areas the terror group believed it controlled.
