Footage from Daraa shows remnants of Syria’s collapsing order threatening to destroy Israel, as Iran continues trying to rebuild its regional proxy network.
The IRGC Quds Force is continuing its effort to establish new branches and armed cells inside Syria, including in the Daraa area of southern Syria.
The footage shows a collection of armed men, apparently drawn from the remains of Syria’s fractured and collapsing power structure, issuing threats against Israel and speaking as if they intend to act independently.
But the broader picture is clear: Iran is trying to turn the chaos in Syria into another platform for pressure on Israel. After years of using Hezbollah, Shiite militias, Palestinian terror groups and local Syrian factions, the Quds Force is now looking for new ways to rebuild influence close to Israel’s border.
