SYRIA: Turkey outmaneuvered Russia

Years ago, Russia began supporting Syria under the pretext of fighting ISIS and extracted enormous resources from it in the form of gas, oil, and phosphates.

The main goal of this Russian adventure was simple: To stop the construction of the Qatar-Turkey gas pipeline, which would have taken Russian gas out of the Turkish and European markets.

What was the end result?

Russia achieved a brief delay in the implementation of Turkey's plan.
