Israeli security officials: During the night, the IDF attacked in eastern Syria properties that were used by the special operations unit in Syria and the special operations wing of the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence organization, headed by Javad Afari.
The attack was carried out in response to the attempts to smuggle advanced and high-quality military equipment into Israeli territory, as revealed yesterday by the IDF and Shin Bet. Afari previously served as the commander of the Syrian branch of the Quds Force and used his familiarity with the Syrian arena for the purpose of the smuggling effort.
Several Iranian advisers were killed during the attack.
Private sources said that the attacked meeting included what is known as "Hajj Askar", the commander of the Iranian militias in Deir ez-Zor, and his deputy, known as "Hajj Sajjad", in addition to officers associated with the "Quds Force". who arrived from Iraq two hours before the meeting.
The sources explained that "Haj Askar" left the meeting with the Iranian officers after the first attack on one of the neighboring houses, and the meeting place was the target of a second attack after he left.
The sources stated that in the aforementioned attack there were deaths and injuries among the leaders of the Iranian militias, who participated in the meeting, and were transferred to the city of Al-Qaim in Iraq. Like Behroz and Hadi.
The sources stated that the attacks also targeted one of the weapons warehouses belonging to the Iranian militias near Al-Mari security square, which led to the injury of several civilians because the warehouse was located in populated areas.
Similar attacks were aimed at Iranian militia sites in the al-Kosour neighborhood in the city of Deir ez-Zor, in the village of al-Salihia, and near the Syria-Iraq border.

Sources say that the number of those killed in Deir ez-Zor, Albu Kamal and its surroundings rose to 15.
