According to U.S. authorities, networks linked to Hezbollah have operated in recent years through businesses, diamonds, gold, cash, real estate, import-export, and luxury goods. In one case, a financier provided the organization with millions of dollars from business revenues, including through West Africa. 

In another case, a network designated by the U.S. Treasury Department was linked to activities that generated about $440 million between 2020 and 2022.

Why is this important right now? Because to finance the war against Israel, Hezbollah needs money — a lot of it. Money for salaries, compensations, asset rehabilitation, procurement, maintaining political loyalty in Lebanon, and rebuilding strength.
