The US military is preparing to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Washington, DC as part of President Trump’s nationwide crime crackdown, according to officials
While Trump has not yet issued the order, the Guard is on standby, and 120 FBI agents are already patrolling city streets, focusing on carjacking hot spots.
Trump, who will hold a White House press conference Monday on the city’s condition, warned on Truth Social: “Be prepared! There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’ We want our Capital BACK.”
His March 28 executive order, “Making the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful,” created a task force to tackle crime and reduce illegal immigration. He also vowed to relocate the homeless away from the capital and jail criminals, likening the effort to his border crackdown.
